THE LEGEND OF NUMBER ’13’
JUST SO YOU KNOW, THE CHARACTERS IN THIS STORY ARE BASED ON FICTIONAL GODS AND ARE NOT ACTUALLY REAL.
One fine morning, the god Balder woke up and said to his mom he had a nightmare that showed him his death. Balder’s Mother was scared about this dream that she made the nature things promise not to harm her son. The other gods passed time by throwing stuff at Balder and watching the stuff bounce off. (Cool!)
One fine day, Loki, another god, was jealous of this and hatched an evil plan. He tricked Balder’s mother into telling him she had not gotten a promise from the mistletoe, because she thought it was useless. Loki than made a dart out of the mistletoe, and attended a party that Balder was in as the 13th guest. Then Loki saw Balder’s brother sitting around and asked why he was not throwing anything. he replied that he was blind and did not have anything to throw. So Loki gave him the dart, guided his hand and threw it. the dart penetrated Balder’s heart and that’s how the legend of the number 13 came to be.
